In times of scarce resources and rising prices, the pressure on venues and organisers is growing. The Corona pandemic has slowed down investments in new, resource-saving technologies. Apart from the financial losses, it is mainly factors such as the lack of staff, knowledge and time that slow down sustainable change. Yet the potential and the willingness to protect the climate among organisers and live music venues is great!
In 2021, Clubtopia and other stakeholders adopted the Code of Conduct "Future Celebrations", with which the signatory clubs commit to more climate and environmental protection and social sustainability. The "Code of Conduct" is thus a holistic sustainability concept. The first signatories were the Berlin clubs SchwuZ, Suicide Club, Yaam and Rummels Bucht.
What music industry creators can do concretely to reduce energy consumption, emissions and costs is conveyed in this Music Industry Talk Hour in cooperation with Clubtopia. The project is committed to a climate-friendly Berlin club scene and supports the players in the scene with tailored knowledge.
Please note: For organisational reasons, the last office hour this year will take place on 08.12.2022 at 14:30.
