Press relations – once the most important tool in the marketing mix of artists and labels, the media offering in the music sector has now greatly diminished. For whom is PR still worthwhile today – and why? What really matters when it comes to press relations? This mini-bootcamp answers the most important questions.

Why should you take part? The consultation session will answer the most important questions about promotion and give you a realistic assessment of the role PR can play for you as a music maker. You will also learn the basic tools you need to become active yourself.

About the speaker: Lina Burghausen is an A&R, music promoter and manager, freelance author and DJ from Leipzig. As a hip-hop head since childhood, she has been deeply involved in the scene and has been making a name for herself as a rapper since the age of 16. Since 2014, she has been supporting musicians with her self-titled PR agency with soul, heart and mind in matters of press relations, social media and management, advising artists on marketing issues, writing texts and giving workshops.

Since February 2020, Lina Burghausen has been working as A&R for the Fe*male rap label “365XX”, a sub-label of [PIAS]. 365XX emerged from the blog series “365 Fe*male MCs”, which Lina initiated. In 2018, she was honoured with the International Music Journalism Award in the category “Best music journalistic work under 30” for the project.

365XX won the VUT Indie Award for “Best Label” at the Reeperbahn Festival 2023.

Lina Burghausen was a participant in the Keychange programme 2020/2021.
