MUSIC AMBASSADOR

Berlin on the way to partners

The Music Ambassador Programme promotes the international networking of Berlin’s music industry players and musicians and strengthens the internationalization of the Berlin music scene and the business location as a whole.

Funding is provided for travel projects abroad by Berlin players in the music industry and Berlin musicians. One focus is on network exchange and cooperation between music networks. A Music Ambassador is tasked with representing Berlin as a music location internationally and submitting a short report and the results of the trip at the end of the trip.

CURRENT OPEN CALLS

The first call for applications has already been completed. The results will be published here shortly.

Applications for a second round of the travel grant program will be open from 3 July to 25 July 2024.

The open call for a delegation trip to WOMEX24 will run in parallel from July 2.

The Targetgroup

Our program is aimed at all active participants in Berlin’s music industry – from artists who set up commercial cooperation projects to professional music industry players such as labels, publishers, booking agencies and management.

As part of a cooperation with Musicboard Berlin, musicians who set up creative cooperation projects can also be supported.

If you have any questions about the program or about our ambassadors, please contact us at musicambassador(at)berlin-music-commission.de.

Delegation WOMEX24

Would you like to explore the British music metropolis? Then apply for our Music Ambassador delegation at WOMEX 2024! We support individual players as well as small and medium-sized companies in establishing contacts in the international music business.

As part of this program, we are organizing a small BMC delegation to WOMEX 2024, which takes place from 23 to 27 October in Manchester, UK. Every year, more than 2,600 professionals from 90 countries come together and make the event one of the leading networking platforms for the global music industry.

With our delegation, we want to network the Berlin music industry with WOMEX and the “Global Sounds” industry segment. Special focus areas: Sustainability, promoting young talent and transforming the music industry.

Applications are open until July 25!

Travel grant program:
2nd call for applications

Are you interested in international travel, new networks and strengthening Berlin’s music industry?

The Berlin Music Commission’s Music Ambassador Program has been in existence for ten years and will be announced again in 2024 in a second funding round. Through a new cooperation with Musicboard Berlin, the target group of the program can be expanded in this call for applications as part of a pilot project: In addition to players from the Berlin music industry (music professionals), Berlin musicians from the pop culture sector can also apply to participate in the program for the first time. Another new feature is the option of applying as a team of musician and music professional.

As an applicant, you must have your place of business or residence in Berlin. Your trip must take place between September 1 and December 15, 2024. If you are selected, you will be reimbursed part of the travel costs as support.

Apply by July 25th! We are looking forward to your submissions.
