The LISTEN TO BERLIN: COMPILATION is a space for experimentation. It is open to all genres and styles and is not satisfied with the ordinary. It wants to be unadjusted and unconventional, innovative and progressive. Artists featured on the compilation in the past include Bonaparte, Catnapp, SIND, Alin Coen, uon, We Will Kaleid, VALENTIN, Breezy, DJ İpek İpekçioğlu, Sookee, Brand Brauer Frick, Niconé, Oliver Koletzki, Alice Phoebe Lou, Kat Frankie, Get Well Soon und Moderat.
BEYOND GENRE
Good music knows no genre boundaries. Berlin doesn’t either. Whether afrobeats, experimental electronica, funk and soul music, rap, hip-hop, jazz, reggaeton, pop indie sounds or droning rock – the sound of the city is versatile. We are looking for a cross-section of the most innovative and exciting music of the future: a soundtrack for a diverse city.
CAREFULLY CURATED
The Compilation is curated by a jury of experts from various sectors of the Berlin music industry. This years jury members were Edoardo Rossi (Wolfpack Entertainment), İpek İpekçioğlu, Maureen Mutheu (Songversations), Nadine Lange (Tagesspiegel), Thomas Morr (Morr Music), Olaf Kretschmar (Berlin Music Commission eG) and Yasmine Gallus (Budde Music).

At the LISTEN TO BERLIN: AWARDS on 26.10.2021 three of the artists were awarded with the jury prize. Congratulations to AŸA, Caxxianne und Maury111!
The LISTEN TO BERLIN: AWARDS see themselves as a predicate for remarkable achievements in the Berlin music industry. Since 2017, the Berlin Music Commission has been awarding the prizes independently of commercial considerations and focuses on the multi-faceted nature of the industry. They highlight special people, artists* and projects and present them to a broad public during the award ceremony.
