in this session we want to deal with new technologies and their use in the music industry. In particular, we will focus on the interaction of music, soundscapes and installation art with the help of artificial intelligence – AI.
Science Fiction? What sounds like “music of the future” already plays a decisive role in the way we conceive music.
In order to present this topic to you in the most exciting way possible, we have teamed up with the creative studio for sound research kling klang klong. Some of you already know them, as they are, among other things, responsible for the sound installations of the Dark Matter Berlin exhibition. Their extensive project portfolio speaks for itself, and if you’ve always wanted to know what an AI-generated, climate data-based reimagining of Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” sounds like, you can listen to it in advance here. This is what climate change sounds like!
Together with Felipe Sánchez Luna, Co-Founder, Creative and Managing Director of kling klang klong, we will explore how technology allows us to create unique and spatial experiences that are deeply emotional while having meaningful impact through a social, scientific and design approach. Through concrete examples, you will be invited to travel through different soundscapes and think about the possibilities that open up from technologies such as AI and music.
About Felipe Sánchez Luna
Felipe Sánchez Luna is a sound artist working in music, interactive experiences and digital art. He is co-founder, creative and managing director of the Berlin-based studio kling klang klong, which focuses on music, interactive technologies and art. He works across Germany as a lecturer in music design, creative coding and interactive experiences. Since 2013 he has been working professionally as an artist, creative programmer and sound designer in the field of “new media”, taking elements from film, music, dance performance and new technologies, developing generative music and intelligent audio engines and creating sound experiences based on interactive technologies.
