Music industry consultation “Against the crises: Sustainability and Climate Protection for Promoters and Venues”.
In times of scarce resources and rising prices, the pressure on venues and organizers is growing. The Corona pandemic has slowed down investments in new, resource-saving technologies. In addition to the financial losses, it is primarily factors such as the lack of personnel, knowledge and time that are slowing down sustainable change. The potential and the willingness to protect the climate among organizers and live music venues is great! In 2021, Clubtopia and other stakeholders adopted the Code of Conduct “Zukunft Feiern”, with which the signatory clubs commit themselves to more climate and environmental protection, but also to more social sustainability. The “Code of Conduct” thus sees itself as a holistic sustainability concept. Among the first signatories were the Berlin clubs SchwuZ, Suicide Club, Yaam and Rummels Bucht. What the creators of the music industry can do in concrete terms to reduce energy consumption, emissions and costs is conveyed by this Music Industry Talk Hour in cooperation with Clubtopia. The project is committed to a climate-friendly Berlin club scene and supports the players in the scene with tailored knowledge.
