Deutscher Musikverleger-Verband

The DMV represents music publishers – from small one-woman/man businesses to multinational corporations – from all over Germany. With around 350 members, the association represents about 90% of the music publishing turnover generated in Germany.

The music publisher organised in the DMV achieved a turnover of 690 million euros in the 2018 financial year. In addition to sheet music, i.e. the printing and distribution of sheet music (which accounts for approx. 10 percent of the total turnover of music publishers), other revenue sources are the rights and licences for advertising, music in films, etc., which are administered by the publishers as well as the income from the rights which are administered collectively by GEMA for domestic and foreign authors and their publishers.
