This webinar provides an overview of the options for funding sustainability measures for your event. You will be provided with the most important theoretical knowledge you need to independently research, submit an application and write a proof of utilisation.
About the lecturer:
Annekathrin Otto is a funding expert who is passionate about environmental and social sustainability in the cultural and event sector. With over 24 years of experience in the cultural sector, she has extensive knowledge and skills in funding acquisition.
As a trained event manager, communications manager, systemic coach and transformation manager for sustainable culture, she has a strong foundation of competences. Her expertise in the acquisition of funding is complemented by her many years as a freelance PR consultant for companies in the environmental, social and cultural sectors.
An outstanding example of her funding expertise is her work for the electro festival Wilde Möhre and the cultural festival Lausitz Festival, where she was and is active as a sustainability and funding expert. Here, she played a key role in securing financial support and making the projects sustainable.
Annekathrin Otto combines her extensive experience with a deep understanding of the requirements and opportunities of funding acquisition to successfully realise cultural projects and promote sustainability in the industry.

About the webinar:
This webinar is aimed at anyone in the music industry who wants to know how to measure their carbon emissions. It will give an insight into the environmental impact of the music industry’s activities and how you can start to measure your carbon emissions. 1 hour presentation will cover the practical aspects of the process, show where you can make quick wins and introduce some of the tools available. It will also provide an overview of some of the latest research from the AGF and other organisations, as well as current trends in the music industry.
About Alex Fintoni: Alex Fintoni (PIEMA, REnvP) is a carbon analyst and sustainability consultant at A Greener Future (AGF). He helps music festivals, venues and tour managers measure and report on their environmental impact and carbon emissions. Prior to AGF, he was a senior sustainability consultant at Mabbett & Associates, where he supported businesses and public sector organisations across the UK and Europe in the areas of resource efficiency and circular economy, including Zero Waste Scotland, Irish Manufacturing Research and the European Cluster Collaboration Platform.

About Maria Elena De Matteo:
Maria Elena De Matteo is a communications strategist and environmental activist with over ten years of experience. She has worked with global organisations such as Greenpeace and founded the consulting agency We Move Waves in 2021. She develops communication strategies that combine social and environmental impact and is a certified environmental assessor for festivals. Maria Elena is also a musician and plays traditional Japanese drums (Wadaiko). In 2023 she was selected for the Festival Sustainability Lab and co-authored the EU National Cultural Institutes Sustainability Toolkit.
