GEMA: Regulations for royalties 2020 & 2021

Within the framework of the “Gesamtvertrag”, members of the BMC receive a 20% discount from GEMA (check our members’ area). Therefore, we would like to inform you about the current regulations and application deadlines:

In response to the Corona pandemic, GEMA 2020 has voluntarily decided to credit the agreed royalties for the period of the official closure. This goodwill arrangement has continued to apply since 01 January 2021 and until further notice. To obtain a corresponding credit for the current year, you can submit an application via www.gema.de/portal.

Please note: Applications for credits for continuous use of music in the form of ongoing annual, quarterly and monthly contracts relating to the 2020 financial year can still be submitted online at www.gema.de/portal up to and including 14 April 2021. After that, the possibility of receiving credits for the past year 2020 will no longer apply!

GEMA reserves the right to terminate the voluntary granting of credits at any time in view of the further development of the pandemic and on the basis of the decisions of the Federal Government and the Länder.
