Consultation: Future plans – How and when to approach industry pros

The Music Industry Consultation Hour is an open network format for exchange, advice and problem analysis. With the support of experts, support and know-how for concrete questions and topics are offered to a small group of participants at regular events.

In the music industry consultation on 8th of December 2020 on the topic of “Future plans – How and when to approach industry pros“, STAAB (R.O.T) went into an exchange with future musicians and gave them helpful tips for their further musical development. STAAB is co-founder and partner of the artist and label collective R.O.T / respectortolerate from Berlin. His responsibilities include booking, promotion, artistic artist management, accounting and live productions.

In the dialogue with the participants, the following topics were discussed, among others:

• Label / distribution / management: Which partners should I bring on board and when?
• How do I approach them?
• Self-portrayal and presentation as a musician and young professional
• Internship, trainee, collaboration: How do I get a job?
