Consultation: Music Business “My Music Needs to be Heard – Radio Promotion”
The consultation: music business is an open network format for exchange, consultation and problem analysis. With the support of experts, support and know-how for concrete questions and topics are offered to small groups of participants at regular events.
In the consultation session “My music needs to be heard – Radio Promotion” on 10.09.2020, Sarah Wächter (s’läuft!) answered questions about radio promotion.
While live performances are mostly cancelled, artists have to concentrate more on alternative ways to get played. Why the medium radio is therefore more important than ever, how it can be used for this purpose and what has to be considered, was talked about in this session.
Sarah Wächter started to play records as a DJ in Cologne clubs at the age of 18 and wrote for various music magazines. After a spontaneous move to Berlin, she joined the label Motor Music in 2008 and worked there as a radio promoter, artist manager and lyricist. Since 2012 she has been running her own promotion and PR agency s’läuft! with a focus on radio promotion.
In the dialogue with the participants*, she has dealt with the following topics, among others:
- Single selection
- AirplayCharts
- the different radio stations
- the right timing
We would like to thank Sarah Wächter for her expertise and all participants* for the lively exchange!
