Berlin at the Reeperbahn Festival: Successful Berlin Reception and LISTEN TO BERLIN Showcase
On 19 September 2024, the Berlin Reception took place as part of the Reeperbahn Festival – an event organised by the Berlin Music Commission in cooperation with Budde Music, Musicboard Berlin and Berlin Partner for Business and Technology. The event offered a valuable platform for dialogue between representatives of the international music industry and Berlin players and facilitated valuable new contacts.
The historic Indra Musikclub in Hamburg, known as the Beatles’ first performance venue, provided the perfect backdrop for this special reception. The great interest in the event was already evident early in the evening – a long queue outside the venue underlined the success of the evening.
Olaf Kretschmar, Managing Director and Chairman of the Berlin Music Commission, summarised:
‘With our first LISTEN TO BERLIN showcase at the Reeperbahn Festival, we successfully presented Berlin as a music location. Together with our partners, we were able to bring the outstanding artistic quality of Berlin bands such as Prismala and King Josephine to an international audience.’
At the LISTEN TO BERLIN: LIVE showcase, Berlin artists such as Hannah Lees, Prismala, King Josephine and Kalla b2b Lai Raw thrilled the audience with energetic performances. The diversity and creativity of the Berlin music scene was shown at its best.
The successful Berlin Reception and the LISTEN TO BERLIN Showcase impressively illustrated the international significance of Berlin’s music scene. We would like to thank everyone involved and look forward to future events to further showcase the diversity and creativity of Berlin’s music scene.
