Congratulations to the Friedrichstadt Palast on its 40th anniversary! The revue theatre was built in East Berlin in 1984 and was already known for its impressive stage shows during the GDR era. The previous building was located at Schiffbauerdamm. Today, the Friedrichstadt Palast attracts half a million visitors every year and last year generated a turnover of 28 million euros. With 1895 seats, it is the largest revue theatre in Europe and the largest theatre building in Berlin. The building has also been a listed building since 2020. We congratulate Palast director Berndt Schmidt and his team of around 300 employees. We are looking forward to the upcoming shows and wish them all the best for the coming decades!
